As the first in my role at Sandy Liang, I drove strategy across all business cross-functional divisions (Ecom, Retail, Wholesale, Marketing, Logistics) and laid the company’s planning and finance foundations to give visibility, structure, and alignment across teams, ensuring decisions are both creatively ambitious and financially sound.
SALES & FORECASTING
I worked alongside the CEO to oversee sales across ecommerce, retail, and wholesale and built out forecasting processes for the first time in company history, setting data-driven financial goals for the team. My role spans from pacing sales by channel to creating frameworks that balance growth with profitability.
INVENTORY STRATEGY
Inventory health is foundational to profitability. I introduced open-to-buy, seasonal receipt plans, and promotional/markdown cadences that created discipline around how we buy and how we sell. I also built a monthly reconciliation process that minimized our tax liability, while improving inventory productivity and visibility across all channels.
MARGIN & CASH FLOW OPTIMIZATION
In a volatile macroeconomic and geopolitical environment, I restructured buy strategies, reassessed vendor mix, and prioritized margin protection and led the team in the face of tariffs, shifting manufacturing costs, and an industry-wide retail slowdown. I transitioned the business from cash to accrual accounting by building a three-statement model, which recovered cash flow within months and set the company up with its first full-company budget.
BUDGETING & REPORTING
I established departmental budgets across Ecom, Retail, Wholesale, Marketing, Logistics, Design, Development, and Production. I also revamped reporting across revenue-driving channels, turning raw sales data into actionable insights that guide decision-making and long-term strategy. This shifted the team’s decision-making from reactive to proactive, helping every function see how their work connects back to brand goals and strategic growth.
APPAREL MAGIC
I led the integration of ERP Apparel Magic on the business operations side of the company, introducing a single platform to manage inventory, orders, and financials. By building clean workflows and ensuring cross-functional adoption, I guided cross-functional teams to update workflows and adopt new processes that brought consistent data, better visibility, and scalable processes, turning what had been fragmented information into one source of truth.
COLLABS
I project-managed high-profile collaborations with brands including Salomon, Wildflower, Beats, Subu, Monchhichi and Gap. While I advised on the buys and launches for these collabs, beyond finance and planning, I drove the strategy and cross-functional coordination behind these projects, ensuring that each partnership delivered commercial impact.
